Flowers for Marley

Marley and Roses

Recently, I found an automatically created video on my phone. The story was named “Flowers.” I haven’t watched those for a while and decided to open the new video. The phone put together pictures of the flowers I took at different times of our lives. The colorful flowers brought long cherished memories from our favorite places. My heart skipped a beat when I saw a photo of Marley under the bouquet of roses. We bought the beautiful yellow and red roses for our daughter’s tenth birthday. I remember taking Marley’s pictures when he jumped to the table and stretched his body under the flowers.

We took the photo four years ago, and I haven’t seen it for a while. The pictures came in the slideshow now, with other flowers. We are including the video in the post.

Irises from Sasha’s School.

One of the first images shows gentle purple irises from Sasha’s Elementary schoolyard, from her graduation. Our girl spent five productive years at this place, learned her first enjoyments and disappointments, and experienced challenges and achievements.

Earth Day.

The red and pink roses outside that appear right after Marley’s pictures are taken in our neighborhood during our walk on Earth Day. Sasha decided to pick up the garbage and clean up the streets of plastic and glass. While working, we enjoyed the scenery and looked for the painted rocks left by unknown artists in unexpected spots.

The Favorite Church.

The next slide shows the orange rose bush with a church building and a statue of Saint Joseph in the background. Our cats, Sunny and Marley, visited the Church for a blessing on the day of Saint Francis of Assisi, the patron of the animals. We brought the boys in their carriers and placed them on the ground. The kittens were apprehensive of the big dog that was barking near. Joey came to the family later.

Sasha’s Daisy.

The single white flower with a purple center is a special daisy that Sasha planted a couple of years ago. The plant was so tiny, and our girl used a small white flower pot to plant the daisy. Two years later, the flower grew into a bush that we transplanted into a big pot on our porch.

California Poppies.

The beautiful University campus in the area has a lot of bright orange poppies. The college plays a significant role in the life of our family. Beautiful and symbolic flowers bring hope and happiness.

The Sunday School.

We took the photo of the pink cheerful flower blanket at Sasha’s Sunday school. Time passed, and Sasha graduated, but the modest, beautiful flowers are still with us.

Garden Flowers.

Springtime, our family looks forward to starting our garden. We love the garden section of the stores and snapped many pictures in the slideshow at the local nurseries.

Marley’s Flowers.

The bright, colorful bouquet towards the end of the video was a precious gift from our SNAPCats friends when we lost Marley in June. The beautiful flowers are a priceless symbol of sympathy, friendship, and compassion.

The small wreath of pansies with an orange butterfly and a purple hummingbird is our gift to Marley. We brought them to the site where he found rest. Years ago, my beloved Grandma raised pansies in her garden by the window. We love hummingbirds and enjoy having them in our yard. Butterflies bring peace, kindness, and gentle love.

We give all our flowers and cherished memories to him. He will always be by our side.
